The India I see....
India. My land. My home.
Do I sound like a patriot?
But I am not. I am not a patriot. I
am just a 14 year old citizen of India. A true citizen of India who woke up
from her dream, 14 years after she is born. Today, I wish to write what I
deeply feel like conveying to the 125 crore population.
Our ancestors lost their precious
lives struggling for freedom. Had they known about the glory the present day
politicians will bring to their sacrifice, they would have never laid their
lives. They fought against the white skinned British and now it’s time for our
generation to fight for our rights, fight against these brown skinned British.
We are citizens of an independent India. That’s what they say in their honey
coated speeches. Don’t they?
But stop, do
they mean it? Of course not, all they want is money.
And, where
do they get this money from? Not a tough
question to answer....simple, from the common man’s pockets. Yes! The same
common man who can’t even afford a simple life.
But, why
would they care? They have a heap of notes, crores of them. Seven generations
can live a life of luxury with that money even if they don’t earn at all.
Daily, all
that you can see on the television or read in the newspapers is scandals:
adarsh, CWG, and there is a never ending list of it. So much of money is put
into the development stuff but, where does the money go? Our dear politicians
will answer this. Not today? Then tomorrow.
After all “we have the right to know everything” or at least that’s what
the constitution says.
If at all
our politicians believe in the constitution then why don’t we get to know the
exact amount of money in their banks? Why do politicians not reveal their
assets in the Swiss bank?
I just can’t
figure this out, what will they do of so much money? Will they scrub themselves
with gold coins or get blankets stuffed with notes for themselves? Or better,
will they get themselves a coffin made up of note mache`? Another yet
interesting question is “ is the condition of India’s healthcare so bad that our
politicians have to go to foreign countries for their treatment?”
And then
comes this- our country India is a democratic country still we can’t say a word
against our government....look at other non-democratic countries, they’ve put
their dictators behind bars. What a pity!
Also, we
have given a lot of power in the hands of some people who are not even Indians!
Or worse, they have not surrendered their citizenship of other countries.
It is high
time we wake up. As this making a fun of common man’s life will not work in the
near future and still if we wish to be silent, then the term used for us can be
“despicable”.
This is not
the India I want to see but still this is the India I see.
Think about
it.
It’s your
country
Your self
esteem
Your power
Your wish
Thank you
